“All in.” It’s a philosophy that I have learned and one that I try hard to live by, although admittedly I don’t always get it right. In order to be successful, very successful, at anything we must give it all we’ve got. We must go all in. But what about when we want to be successful at more than one thing? Maybe we aren’t at the level where we’re ready to dedicate our entire lives in an attempt to make it to the Olympics, but we would like to be really successful in our careers, really dedicated to our relationships and also have time to take care of ourselves and do things that are important to us. How do we go all in on all of these things at the same time? That is something that I struggled with for a long time. The “All in” philosophy is something that has helped me dramatically with that.

Have you noticed that you never seem to “get there”? When you started, you thought that if you could just lose x pounds you’d be happy, but when you got there you realized that maybe x more would do it. When you started, you thought if you made x per year you’d be good, then you got there and realized you weren’t satisfied with that. Sound familiar? It does to me. I’m that way too. I always thought it was a curse. But I realized something about it that made me feel a lot better.
